I’m so proud being a Pinoy blogger. Pinoy Blogoshpere is now so big and uncountable. Too many Pinoy Bloggers top the rank. And now believe it or not Google Blogger now recognizes the Pinoy language.
Last February 29, Blogger announced that they are now available in Filipino. Since Filipino blogging community is growing every minute, it is now the right time for Blogger to support our language.
There is already a very strong blogging community in the Philippines, and we’re very happy to support that and be a part of it. Want a taste? Start with our friend Aileen and keep clicking!
But as what PinoyBlogero said, “Blogger.com Now In Tagalog, But Do We Really Need it?“, that dialog really plays in my mind. I’m happy that Blogger support our very own language but behind that happiness is the question “Do we really need it?”. Most Pinoy bloggers use the English language. For Pinoys, using English language is professionalism. We can only see Pinoy bloggers using the Filipino language in personal niche. Honestly, when I try to use the Filipino language in Blogger.com I find it harder to understand. I’m not just comfortable in reading technical words with Tagalog.
